I Don’t Think My Brain Knows How To Stop Vomiting?

October 28th, 2009

Okay, when I was a kid, from the time I was 0-12, I had about 5 or 6 flues/stomach viruses. And everytime I had a stomach virus, I vomited A LOT. I vomited every 15-30 minutes for hours and hours, probably about 4-5 hours.
And everytime I had a stomach virus, my mom would give me this anit-nausea/vomiting pill called phenergan(http://www.drugs.com/phenergan.html), and I would NEVER stomach vomiting until I had some phenergan. So I was wondering, since I was so young when I took the phenergan(the first time I took it, I was 7) is it possible that I have trained my brain to NOT know how to STOP vomiting until it gets some phenergan? In the case that I had a stomach virus, but no phenergan, is it possible that I would just keep vomiting and vomiting until I got dehydrated and stuff?
Please, serious answers only, I’m really extremely worried about this since I have never been in a situation where I was vomiting and didn’t have any phenergan. I’m worried.

Why Are There So Many Cons Vs. Pros When It Comes To Rx Meds Vs Marijuana?

October 28th, 2009

I’ve had trouble falling asleep and staying asleep for the past 5 months. I’ve had chronic pain to go along with it. Nothing the doctor has prescribed me has helped. In fact, it’s made it worse. One medication (Klonopin) I became physically addicted to and I had to go through detox to get off of it. The other, Ambien, had an adverse affect and actually started to keep me wide awake. Recently the doctor introduced me to Seroquel. What a nightmare!
Why is Marijuana still illegal! I went to drugs.com and compared these medications along with others and compared them to the side effects of marijuana whether they are long term or short term.
I’m sure this debate has been brought up a lot here on Yahoo Answers, but it just frustrates the **** out of me that one thing that helps me sleep and feel alive the next day is illegal in supposedly the land of the free and the best country in the world.
Hell, my problem is nothing compared to a person with Aids or Cancer or some other terminal illness. God Bless them all! I can’t believe what they must go through when they’re denied medical marijuana.
Every drug is not the right drug for every individual and will have different effects on different people. Same thing when it comes to Marijuana.
I’ve had a close friend and family member die of a deadly drug combination and an overdose.. My friend died from a mixture of Xanax and Alcohol and my cousin passed away from an overdose of pain killers (Vicodin and Percocet).

Has My Psychiatrist Performed Misconduct? Is This Normal?

October 28th, 2009

I’m an adult in my early twenties. I was prescribed Dexedrine (for ADHD) 30 mg daily, 10 mg three times a day, four hours apart, and Zoloft (for Anxiety & Depression) 50 mg daily, in the morning. My psychiatrist said nothing about possible interactions, but look at what I’ve found here. Has my psychiatrist performed misconduct?

The check was made at Drugs.com with several other sources saying the same sort of thing. The morning after taking my initial 50 mg of Zoloft along with my usual Dexedrine regimen which I already started on three days prior, I woke up exceedingly anxious, jaw clenching, without the same eye focus. Is this normal, and what should I do?

I Have A 3 Month Od Babygirl:0) And I Had An Iud Inserted, But I’m Becoming Very Concerned. Is It Really Safe?

October 27th, 2009

I am, and have been breastfeeding my daughter since birth, but now I keep reading negative things about the Mirena IUD and breastfeeding. Is It Safe? I’m really worried. My Dr didn’t explain anything to me. He asked if I wanted the 5 or 10 year, told me it would make my period lighter, then put it in. Didn’t give me a list of side effects or anything. It’s been about a month and I’ve been nursing the whole time. What are the risks, if any? Like I said, I’m really worried. Especially after googling “breastfeeding and mirena IUD” and reading up on it on Drugs.com . Please respond asap! Even via e-mail mrsraerobinson@yahoo.com . Thank you

Does Anyone Recognise This Text?

October 27th, 2009

See depression treatments, at ezy-build (below) in section 2, and consult a doctor, to eliminate thyroid problems, etc. as possible contributing factors: also seek a referral to a therapist using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy. It is your decision, and yours alone, as to whether to take any antidepressants offered, but, before you do, read section 1, and check medications out at www.drugs.com so you will be on the lookout for side effects, like sexual dysfunction. My strong recommendation, however, is to follow the advice of my doctor, his associate, and also Marcelle Pick, OB/GYN NP, and Dr. Mercola, as well, at *http://www.mercola.com and avoid antidepressants (pages 2V, and 2Z refer, & antidepressant websites: page 2). The reasons why we all share the same view on this are explained in full, as you will find, if you read the whole section. All of their advice, (except prayer, because many people are not religious) I have incorporated into th

Manny Got Suspended For Cough Medicine?

October 27th, 2009

MLB.com says he got suspended for PED use…http://www.drugs.com/mtm/phenavent-ped.html According to drugs.com it is a cough medicine. To me this is a huge injustice. I am not a dodgers fan, but I am a huge baseball fan. Baseball is being ruined by the people who actually use performance drugs and its starting to effect the players that play honestly. I am not even a Manny fan, but baseball is really getting out of hand. People like Arod and Sammy Sosa and Mark McGuire are the real cheaters who ruined baseball for there own personal benefit and ego.

Are These Side Affects Severe? (from Using Yaz)?

October 26th, 2009

I’m about half way through the third week of my first pack, which I’m on to help regulate my period.
I was reading on Drugs.com that “severe” side affects included dark urine and calf or leg pain, and I’m experiencing both of them. The leg pain isn’t bad, though… I just notice a dull pain throughout my entire left leg occasionally throughout the day. My urine, however, is a lot darker than it normally is. I think I’ll try to drink a lot more water to see if it changes anything, though… I’m sure I haven’t made any changes, however.
My concern is that I’m making an issue out of nothing. How “bad” exactly do these side affects have to be in order to seek attention about it? Also, what could be the damage? I’m scared. Please answer only if you are really familiar with this birth control- preferably having used it before or are using it now.

About The Drug Metronidazole?

October 26th, 2009

I was prescribed this drug to take for 1 week twice a day. my doctor told me that since it can be very hard on your stomach to take it with a meal.
I just looked it up on drugs.com and it says to take it at least 1-2 hours before eating. It specifically states to take it on an empty stomach. Which is correct? I know generally you should listen to what your doctor tells you, but there’s a possibility she made a mistake when she said it.
Also, drugs.com says not to chew it because breaking it will release too much of the drug at once.. I did not do it on purpose (I wouldn’t because it tastes absolutely disgusting if you’ve ever had to take it), but I just bit into it by accident. What can happen?
